Obstacle is the process of doing something that is brand new looking older and distressed dining table. Used properly, can painfully add character and charm to a furniture. Making wood look sad is not difficult. Just make sure you do it carefully to avoid damaging the underlying grain.
Start by looking at all aspects of the wood. Examine how the grain flows and where you can see the small chunks that already exist. You want to work with natural woods to improve the existing features. Use a fine slip paper to remove some of the underlying paint. Use sandpaper easily. You do not want to go too much. Do not use a grinder. Rub sandpaper along the edges of the wood. Pay particular attention to areas that are more likely to be seen. The sandpaper removes some of the new edges and serves as a means of preparing the forest for further painful attempts.
Clean the wood. Remove all traces of wood dust that may remain on the surface of the work. You want the wood to be as clean as possible when you complete any additional painful steps. Use a key to mark the surface of the wood. Pull the key over the surface of the wood in small, fast draws on several areas of the wood. Do not dig too deep or you will pull pieces of wood. Use light pressure. Attempts to make blows look so random and possible to stimulate normal wear and tear. Make three small marks in one area and two in another. Do not exaggerate or add too many. Do you want something that looks subtle?
Place the stain. Put the color on the wood with the stain. Look for stains that complement the color of wood as well as the colors of the room. If possible, use more than one spot on the play. Paint stain on the surface of wood with a small brush. Dip the brush into the stain and then paint it randomly in areas of the wood. Do not worry that you allow the color to accumulate in one place. Allow to dry and apply a second layer of paint to the wood as well. Protect distressed wood with a layer of paint. Apply a second layer of lacquer to the wood to protect the changes you have made in it. Allow the paint to dry before using wood.
Tips and warnings
If you use a dark color, apply a bright color first so that when you need the play, it brighter the color through the dark coat and creates contrast.
